Volume booster
Make quiet audio louder — or turn it down — and hear the change live before you save. Works with music, voice recordings and video soundtracks.
How to use it
- Choose an audio or video file.
- Move the volume slider and press play — you hear the new level instantly.
- Keep "Prevent distortion" on for a clean result, then download as MP3 or WAV.
Louder without the crackle
Turning digital audio up too far makes the loudest moments "clip": the waveform hits the ceiling and the sound crackles. With "Prevent distortion" switched on, the booster never goes past the point where your loudest moment touches full volume, so the result stays clean.
The tool tells you exactly how much headroom your file has. "Make as loud as possible" jumps straight to that level.
How much is +6 dB?
Decibels are relative: +6 dB doubles the signal level and sounds clearly louder; +10 dB sounds roughly twice as loud to most listeners. −6 dB halves the level.
When your file will not go louder
If one moment in the recording — a clap, a cough, a door — is already at full volume, the whole file cannot be raised without distorting it. Use the MP3 cutter to remove that moment first and the booster will be able to go much further.
Frequently asked questions
How much louder can I make my audio?
Up to +20 dB. With "Prevent distortion" on, the boost stops where the loudest moment reaches full volume. The tool shows exactly how far that is for your file.
Can I boost the volume of a video?
Yes. Choose the video file and you get its soundtrack, made louder, as MP3 or WAV.
Can I make audio quieter too?
Yes. Drag the slider below zero to reduce the volume.
Is my file uploaded?
No. The volume change is calculated in your browser on your own device.
