Remove wind noise from audio

Rescue outdoor recordings ruined by wind. The AI keeps the voice and strips out the rumble and gusts — free, in your browser.

How to use it

  1. Choose the recording or video that has wind noise.
  2. The model suppresses the low rumble and bursts of wind around the voice.
  3. Compare with the original, lower the strength if the voice sounds thin, and download.

Why wind is so hard to remove

Wind does not make a steady sound. It hits the microphone in gusts, overloading it with low-frequency rumble that overlaps the voice. A simple high-pass filter or a classic noise gate either leaves most of it or cuts away the body of the voice.

A speech-trained AI model handles this better: it recognises what a voice looks like in each moment and suppresses the rest, even when the noise changes from one second to the next.

What to expect

Light and moderate wind is removed cleanly. In very strong gusts, where the wind completely overloads the microphone, the voice itself is damaged in the recording — the tool can remove the rumble, but it cannot restore words the microphone never captured.

  • Best results: phone videos outdoors, interviews in a breeze, vlogs while walking
  • Partial results: recordings where the wind is louder than the voice
  • Tip: use the lowest strength that removes the rumble, to keep the voice full

Prevent wind noise next time

A foam or furry windscreen ("deadcat") on the microphone, standing with your back to the wind, and keeping a lapel mic under clothing all reduce wind noise far more than any software can afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

Is my audio uploaded anywhere?

No. The noise remover is downloaded to your browser once and runs on your own device. Your file never leaves your computer or phone, so there is no upload wait and nothing is stored on a server.

Can it remove wind noise from a video?

Yes. Choose the video file; you get the cleaned soundtrack as WAV or MP3, ready to replace the original audio in your editor.

Why does the voice sound thinner afterwards?

Wind and the lowest part of the voice overlap. If the result sounds thin, lower the strength slider until the voice sounds full again.

Is it free?

Yes — no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
