Privacy policy

Your files never leave your device

Every tool on FreeToolsDesk processes files locally, inside your browser. Audio, image and video files you open are not uploaded, transmitted or stored on our servers. Results you download are created on your device. When you close or reload a page, the files held in it are discarded.

Microphone

The mic test asks your browser for microphone access only when you press "Start mic test". The sound is analysed on your device to draw the level meter. The optional five-second test recording is kept in the page’s memory only and is never sent anywhere.

Visitor statistics

We use Umami, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how many people visit and which tools are useful. Umami does not use cookies, does not collect personal information and does not follow you across other websites. It records the page you visited, the site that linked to it, your browser, operating system, device type and country. Your country is worked out from your IP address, but the IP address itself is not stored.

We also count anonymous tool events, such as "a file was opened in the MP3 cutter" or "a JPG was downloaded from the image compressor", together with the output format and, for audio, a rough length range. File names, file contents and anything inside your files are never sent. The statistics are processed by Umami on cloud.umami.is.

Information our web server receives

Like every website, our hosting server receives standard technical information when your browser requests a page: your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. Hosting providers keep these logs for a limited period for security and to keep the service running. We do not use them to identify you.

Cookies

We do not use cookies, and nothing is used for advertising. Your browser may cache the site’s files (including the noise removal model) so the tools load faster next time; you can clear this at any time in your browser settings.

Children

The site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page.
